No. 16 Tram
The magnificently restored
1914 historical No. 16 Launceston tram with its Blackwood and Huon
pine construction blending with traditional brass handrails and fittings,
operates a regular service on a short line between the Gunpowder Mill
and the Windmill tram shelters during opening hours.
No. 16 was converted to its present form as a combination car in 1920, and was scrapped from service in 1951. It had been used on most suburban routes - including Trevallyn and Basin Roads services past its present site.
