Gourlays Sweets Gourlays Sweets was established in the mid 1890's by William Johnston Gourlay who immigrated to Australia from Mother Well, Scotland. On coming to Tasmania, he set up a small confectionery factory and shop at 80 Elizabeth Street, Launceston. Today you can visit Gourlays lolly factory in the Cornmill building at the Penny Royal World. Traditional quality hand made confection is created here using those same original recipes. The equipment and techniques have been handed down through the years and are still in use today. |
